Mooli is a root vegetable, which is generally eaten raw as salad in most parts of North India. Mooli or Radish has a bitter or a sharp taste. In North India or in Punjabi Cuisine Mooli Parathas, Mooli Saag or Mooli Pickle is very common dishes. Mooli Saag is a very popular, easy and quick dish to prepare. In Orissa its commonly known as “Moola Bhaja”. Mooli saag is nutritious and healthy Stir fry.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 Kg Mooli / Radish with Leaves
- 1 Onion chopped
- 5- 6 Cloves of Garlic
- 1 Green Chilli Chopped
- 1/2 Teaspoon Jeera/Cummin seeds
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric
- 1/2 Teaspoon Red Chilly Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Jeera Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
PREPARATION TIME: 15 mins
HOW TO PREPARE:
- Chop 2 moolis and mooli leaves and keep aside
- In a wok, heat oil, add jeera and garlic, saute till it crackles
- Add onions and Turmeric, saute for few minutes
- Add mooli leaves and mooli and saute till mooli gets soft
- Add green chilli and mix well
- Sprinkle Red Chilly Powder, Salt and Jeera Powder, Mix well
- Cook till moisture dries and every thing comes together
- Serve hot with chapatis or parathas
